2D Compositing Engineer
We are currently looking for new skills and visions for our image generation pipeline. The ideal candidate would be an expert in 2D compositing with strong technical abilities. They would need the ability to improve image quality of CG renders toward photorealism, to create new render workflows for synthetic data, to create automated processes for compositing and segmentation. Thanks to their approach to image creation, they will be expected to bring new ideas on how to efficiently create image datasets at scale for a wide variety of projects. They’ll be operating as part of a team of 3D experts and contributing to our amazing generative AI tool that is changing the way that AI engineers & researchers work.
🌍 Your Main Quest
Owner of the image pipeline
Compositing of final renders for delivery to the client to ensure photorealism
Setup color and image format pipeline
Setup the Unreal Engine render engine to fit the requirement for compositing and segmentation
Help to the development of our generative AI tools
Suggest new workflows for image creation pipeline that can rely on efficient 2.5D solutions.
Ensure performance, consistency and efficient workflow
Smooth over the inevitable bumps of production, allowing products to ship faster at higher quality.
At least 5 years experience in 2D compositing in the VFX industry.
Essential Technical skills:
Strong experience working with raw CG renders and tweaking them to bring them closer to entirely photorealistic
Training of machine learning models to generate image datasets (example: Stable Diffusion, Foundry ML, Kognat Rotobot)
Procedural approach to the craft, making it easier to scale up to large datasets
Strong understanding of capturing methods and their effects on an image (focal length, lens quality and complexity, sensor...). Ability to replicate those effects digitally for more realistic results.
Strong interest in synthetic dataset creation
Strong interest in technology
Communication skills are key as you’ll always work in collaboration with the 3D, AI and Product teams to understand their needs. You’ll also work closely with the engineering team using the content created in UE, making sure their requirements are fulfilled.
Proactivity: with the evolution of tools, we need to keep up with technology and you’ll have to bring in new ideas, try new tools and approaches.
